In Rockstars Live, Travel refers to Vehicles that increases the rate that your energy points recharge. Each vehicle type adds from 1 to 7 energy per energy timer cycle (either 4 or 5 minutes depending on class). These effects are cumulative. However, you are limited to 1 of each type of vehicle and they each have an associated upkeep amount and a minimum member size.
Example: I own Car (+1 Energy) and am a Pop Star (5 minute Energy Timer). Instead of recharging 10 energy every 5 minutes, I will recharge 11 energy every 5 minutes.
Example: I own Roadie (+2 Energy) and Private Jet (+7 Energy) and am a Punk Rocker (4 minute Energy Timer). I will now recharge 19 energy every 4 minutes.
Travel Strategy
The introduction of Travel vehicles in Rockstars Live offers players another way to play the game. Rather than earning experience primarily through fighting, it is now possible to earn significant experience through doing Shows and Practices. This can be especially beneficial for players that are less active and can not take as much advantage of the 2 minute Stamina timer.
This becomes evident if you take the extreme case of a Punk Rocker who owns all 7 travel vehicles (+28 Total Energy). Instead of gaining 10 energy points every 4 minutes, they would be gaining 38 energy points every 4 minutes. This is nearly 10 energy points per minute.
To fully reap the benefits of this strategy, I recommend choosing the Punk Rocker class and increasing your Max Energy to a point that fits your frequency of play. The goal being that every time you play, your energy points have just reached their maximum.
However, be aware that due to the extremely high upkeep costs on travel vehicles, it is very costly to also maintain your fighting gear at the same time. It may make sense to forgo some of the higher upkeep items and focus on a blended strategy that includes fighting experience.
If you are primarily earning experience through fighting, then it may not make sense to purchase any travel vehicles. The upkeep costs can be a serious drain on your cash flow and can be better served buying better gear or building your income.
